My name is Jacob & I'm a storyteller!
I love our visual world and it's had quite an influence on me! Ever since I can remember I have loved all things art & design. My passion started early at the breakfast table where I would draw cartoons from the morning comics or my favorite sugar cereals! That passion was planted early on and continues to grow with my career.
A student of visual communication, I was fortunate to work as an in-house designer for BH Media and Lee Enterprises. There, I was responsible for building multi-media advertising and marketing campaigns across Virginia. Working with newspaper publishers, journalists, and advertising executives, we developed impactful community partnerships in 13 markets across Virginia including; the Greater Richmond Region, Fredericksburg, and Charlottesville, VA markets.
Working with a community news organization has renewed my appreciation of the impact of local storytelling. I was appointed as a video specialist within Lee Enterprises and led a creative effort to evolve the pages of the paper with modern video storytelling, advertising, and branded content. I've had the honor of directing and producing documentary-style content with interviews ranging from U.S. Congressmen, Top CEOs, and current and former alumni of the Achievable Dream Academy located in Newport News, VA, and Virginia Beach, VA.
Prior to relocating to Richmond, Va. I worked as an in-house Designer for a top Out-of-Home advertising company developing larger-than-life designs for billboards and bus shelters through Washington, D.C., Baltimore, MD, and the DELMARVA peninsula regions. I graduated with honors in 2016 and completed my Bachelor's in Graphic Communication while working full-time in the graphic and printing industry. Prior to that, I received my A.A.S. in Graphic Design from the local community college.
I've had the opportunity to learn and collaborate with some great individuals, both on a local and national scale.
